Julia started in the general counsel’s office at the University of Oregon in 2012. As Chief of Staff, she oversees all administrative facets of the Vice President and General Counsel’s portfolio including operations, communications, human resources, budget and finances, and special projects. She serves as the jurisdictional contact for the University with the Oregon Government Ethics Commission and she is currently serving an elected position on the Officers of Administration Council. In 2022, she was awarded the MLK Jr. award for her work with the inaugural cohort of the Search Advocate program at the University.
Prior to working at UO, Julia worked in the complex litigation department of a private law firm in Seattle as a Legal Assistant, adjudicating claims related to the 1989 Exxon Valdex oil spill. Following graduate school, she returned to the legal field and spent several years working as Executive Assistant to the Managing Partner and Director of Operations for a boutique business law firm based in Vermont. While in graduate school, she worked as a teaching fellow for an undergraduate course in Bioethics with Dr. David H. Smith.
Julia holds a Master of Arts in Religion degree with a concentration in ethics from Yale University, a Bachelor of Arts in English and Spanish from Greenville University, where she graduated summa cum laude, and an Associate of Occupational Studies degree in Baking and Pastry from the New England Culinary Institute.
