Carson joined the University Oregon’s Office of the General Counsel in June 2023 after six years at Western Oregon University where he served as Interim General Counsel (2022-2023) and Deputy General Counsel (2017-2023). 

Originally from the Midwest, Carson pursued his education on the East Coast, receiving his BA from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC, a Master’s in Industrial Labor Relations from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY and a Juris Doctor from Duke University in Durham, NC.
